Dear R.B.C.C. Members and friends,
Captain's Chirp . . . Choose the right club
Make sure you’re comfortable with the club you’re about to hit. Choose one that instils confidence, and don’t let a playing partner’s club choice push you into a shot that’s not right for you.

Use Of The Golf Course :-
It has come to the attention of the golf committee and to EXCO, that children have been seen riding their bicycles on the golf course. Please be aware that the golf course is for the exclusive use of golfers and those non golfers are not allowed on the golf course. Estate owners and tenants residing on the estate may only use the golf course for golfing activities, once booked in through the Pro Shop. The golf rules and regulations must be adhered to.
Water Lettuce :-
Jacques did some investigation on the water plant that has taken over in our dams. It is not Water Hyacinth as everyone thought, but in fact it is called Water Lettuce, or Water Hyacinth which makes a blue flower.
Jacques spoke to the experts, a guy called Roy, who said there are only 3 ways to combat it. The first way is to introduce a Water Lettuce Leaf Weevil (Neohydronomus affinis), or number two, to introduce the Water Lettuce Leaf Moth (Spodoptera pectinicornis), or alternatively, to keep removing it by hand. He is up in JHB this week and will try and bring back some weevils. He has 20 years experience regarding this plant and he said that chemicals are not an option at all.

The winner between Umfolozi and Amatikulu will take on Kwambo red @ Kwambo on the 19th.
Thanks to all the teams participating this year and remember the finals @ Empangeni on the 3rd of October with our captains meeting to follow.
Prize Giving Time Change :-

Handicap Terminal Improvements
:-
As per our previous communications we have been collating all feedback received from clubs and golfers regarding the new handicap terminals and will be uploading a much improved version of the current system during the course of this evening and early tomorrow morning.
We have removed the ‘Open Round’ function, made some terminology changes which are more familiar to our golfers, reduced the number of steps required to enter a score, increased the size of the various fonts and buttons and improved on the colours used on the terminal to ensure that it is easy for all golfers to see.
Clubs who choose to, will still be able to open rounds for their members using either the SA Round Registration software provided to them by us or on their existing POS system once the back office service providers have completed the necessary integration.
We are confident that the new look will be very well received by all persons that interact with the terminal and that it will greatly reduce the amount of frustration being experienced when trying to enter a score.
We appreciate and value your feedback and should you have any questions, queries or suggestions please feel free to contact us on either 086 000 1945 or alternatively email us at

Casual Water
|
|
“Casual water’’ is any temporary accumulation of water on the course that is not in a water hazard and is visible before or after the player takes his stance. Snow and natural ice, other than frost, are either casual water or loose impediments, at the option of the player. Manufactured ice is an obstruction. Dew and frost are not casual water. A ball is in casual water when it lies in or any part of it touches the
casual water.
