After a low-scoring round, burn the details into your memory, or even write them down. What did your swing feel like that day? What mental process allowed you to be “in the zone”? Remind yourself of these keys before your next big round.
Wednesday 9th June
The Wednesday competition was an Individual Stableford with 10 players in the field and 2 players in the competition (really bad weather – I don’t blame you for not playing in these conditions). The only two people in the competition were Stephen van den Berg and Andre Spies whom was brave enough to venture onto the golf course on this rainy day!
Friday 11th June
Friday’s competition was a Medal / Meat Competition sponsored by the RBCC. There were 56 players in the field and 21 in the competition. Honest John was won by Dudley Anderson with a predicted score of 28 Nett. On Jackpot holes 3, 4 & 7, James Barnard won with 8 points Nett. Hidden Birdie was won by Ursula Howarth on the 6th hole. Ursula also won Nearest to the Pin on hole no 8. James Barnard won the competition with a score of 25 Nett, Jimmy Terblanche in second place with a score of 27 Nett. Third place went to Hannes Uys also with a score of 29 Nett.

1st place is England with 19 points
2nd France with 13.5 points
3rd South Africa with 1 3 points
4th Holland with 9 points
5th Spain with 8.5 points
6th Germany with 6 points
Saturday 12th June
Saturday’s competition was the SANLAM Cancer Challenge - sponsored by Sanlam. The format was an IPS Format, with 71 players in the field and 54 players in the competition. Kathy De Gasperi won the Jackpot holes on holes 5, 11, 13, 15 & 16. Brian Theart won the Hidden Birdie on the 12th hole and Nearest to the Pin was Wim Watson on 8th. Honest John was won by Tom Strydom on 36 points, Ray Boshoff on 38 points and Phil Hammill on 37points. The overall winners of each division were as follows:
A Div Men: 1st place was John Smith on 40 points, 2nd was Ray Boshoff on 38 points and 3rd went to Clyde Watson on 38 points as well.
B Div Men: 1st place was Wim Watson on 40 points, 2nd was Louie Roux (Jnr) on 38 points and 3rd place went to Andre Spies on 37 points.
C Div Men: 1st place was Calvin Tait on 38 points, 2nd was Frikkie Scheepers on 37 points and 3rd place went to Deon Clarke.
Ladies A Div: 1st place was Twiggy van de Merwe on 32 points, 2nd was Ursula Howarth with 30 points and in 3rd place was Marie Terblanche with 29 points.
Ladies B Div: 1st place was Kathy De Gasperi on 33 points and 2nd was Nicole Gillespie with 32 points.
Ladies C Div: 1st went to Julie Oldenburg on 20 points.

Book :-
| Ball Fails to Come to Rest on Spot |
If a ball when placed fails to come to rest on the spot on which it was placed, there is no penalty and the ball must be replaced. If it still fails to come to rest on that spot:
(i) except in a hazard, it must be placed at the nearest spot where it
can be placed at rest that is not nearer the hole and not in a hazard;
(ii) in a hazard, it must be placed in the hazard at the nearest spot where it can be placed at rest that is not nearer the hole.
If a ball when placed comes to rest on the spot on which it is placed, and it subsequently moves, there is no penalty and the ball must be played as it lies, unless the provisions of any other Rule apply.
